A legendary New Orleans institution since 1957, Willie Mae's earned the James Beard Award for 'America's Classic Restaurant' in 2005 and has been voted 'America's Best Fried Chicken' by the Food Network and Travel Channel. Founded in the Tremé by Willie Mae Seaton, the restaurant relocated to a beautiful new downtown location in 2024 after a fire. Now run by great-granddaughter Kerry Seaton Stewart, the menu stars golden fried chicken, creamy gumbo, red beans and rice, deviled eggs, and classic sides — earning a Michelin recognition in 2025.
