A beloved Baquet family legacy restaurant serving authentic New Orleans Creole soul food since the 1940s through various family establishments. The last remaining Baquet-owned restaurant, now run by Wayne Jr. and Arkesha Smith Baquet, Li'l Dizzy's is named after a trumpet-playing grandson nicknamed for Jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie. Located at the edge of the Tremé, the café serves a popular lunch buffet featuring fried chicken, seafood gumbo, red beans and rice, catfish, mac and cheese, candied yams, and greens — with an enthusiastic welcome for every guest.
