Founded in 2010 by Oukassa Wetzel, an Akan princess and international lawyer from the Royal Court of the Indénié kingdom (Côte d'Ivoire), Aflé Bijoux is a luxury jewelry brand rooted in Akan West African culture and symbolism. 'Aflé' means 'beads' in Agni, an Akan language. The collections are handcrafted in Italy using 100% recycled gold and silver with semi-precious stones, sweetwater pearls, and Adinkra symbols — particularly the Adinkrahene spiral, representing leadership and charisma. Pieces have been shown at New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week at Flying Solo. The brand champions women's empowerment through its cultural DNA.
