The Historic Magnolia House

Travel & Recreation · Greensboro, NC

The Historic Magnolia House in Greensboro, NC, is a beautifully restored boutique bed-and-breakfast, event venue, and restaurant that famously served as a vital Green Book hotel during the Jim Crow era. Originally constructed in 1889, it became one of the few places between Atlanta and Richmond where African American travelers, artists, and leaders could find safe, dignified lodging. Today, it stands proud as one of only a handful of Green Book sites in the country completely restored to operate within its original historic context.
